The Saunasella products are hand made in Finland of alder, which is a leaf tree growing in Finland and the baltic states. The wood is very well suited to sauna, as it is sufficiently soft, has very mild scent, is easy to clean, and it is durable.

The chairs have been tested to meet Standard ISO 7173, for durability to public space use. In the test a weight of 200 kg is placed on the chair, and the chair must not tilt front or backward. The chair is then subjected to force from various directions.
The foot rest and the chair can be folded and lifted out of the sauna.
