Sawo SCA Scandia black sauna heater

Sawo SCA Scandia black sauna heater

This SCA sauna heater model is exactly the same as the plain stainless steel Scandic version, with only the difference of the black coating on the stainless steel cover. The black coating is a velvety fiber type, that has a slight shine and sheen, but mostly is ultra deep in its blackness. The fiber coat also has an advantage in that it is not hot to the touch.

The SCA is made of stainless steel, it quickly heats up the sauna due to only 20 kg of stone mass. The significant benefit of this sauna heater compared to any other are its adjustment knobs on the side, on the top, because they are easy to reach. The black box can be moved to the other side of the sauna heater.

The SCA NS version does not come with its own controls, so you will need an separate control unit.

Consider adding these:

The design of the Scandia is timeless, and it has been in Sawo production for over 20 years. The SCA NS requires a separate control unit, and the Huum UKU Wifi unit can be connected with this heater. Another benefit is that with the NS version all the electronics can be placed separately out of the sauna.

Manufacturer: Sawo

Width: NB - 515 mm, NS - 410 mm

Depth: 290 mm

Height: models 4,5-6 kW: 450 mm / models 8-9 kW: 520 mm

Weight: 10 kg

Sauna volume:
3-6 m³: Scandia 4,5 kW
5-9 m³: Scandia 6 kW
7-13 m³: Scandia 8 kW
8-14 m³: Scandia 9 kW

The stone quantity is 20 kg. Make sure your wall structure is strong enough to support the weight.

NOTE: First, calculate your sauna volume, and for each sqm of glass or tile surface add 1 m³ to the calculation. We recommend to choose the higher power version (so for a 6 m³ sauna choose the 6 kW instead of the 4,5 kW.
Also, we recommend to avoid the 9 kW model, as that is a lot of power for such a compact heater, and the internals of the heater operate very hot, not good for longevity. Similarly if the sauna room is large, the heater would be working very hard and hot to heat it up, which is not good, so for a large sauna choose a bigger heater.

Stainless steel

Remove the stones from the heater once per year, for inspection, replace any broken stones or stones that have calcium or other deposit, and re-insert the stones carefully.

Safety distance to burning material:
NB-models: 100 mm
NS-models: front 60 mm, sides 50 mm
